Vendor Friends: Videographer

This vendor friends series is kicking off with a videography team I have known for a few years and I’ve been lucky enough to work with them a couple of times over the years.

Read on to find out more about what Steve + Meg love most about videography, where you can learn more about them, and what makes videography so special to them.

Who are you and what do you do?

We're Steve & Meg, a husband-wife team that loves working collaboratively with our clients to tell their stories in a way that's authentic and meaningful. We're based in the Lower Mainland, though we have strong connections on Vancouver Island.

What is it about videography you love most?

While the imagery communications what's going on, the sound is what conveys the emotions. We love the gentle rustling of the wind through the leaves during the quiet before the ceremony. We love hearing the excited and nervous tremble in people's voices as they share their vows in front of their loved ones.

How long have you been a wedding videographer?

We've been filming weddings since 2010. A lot has changed since then, but the core of good storytelling is evergreen.

How far in advance should couples book you?

Booking us is an easy process, but we highly encourage booking a video call (or an in-person coffee date if you're local!) to see if we're a good fit. We will probably be the ones you spend the most time with on your wedding day, so it's really important to us that we have a positive and fun working dynamic. When in comes to timing, there's no hard and fast rule: just book us when you're ready!

What can clients expect to pay?

Most typical full-day weddings typically start around $3900, though we're happy to custom tailor a package that works for elopements and smaller weddings. We're also happy to travel, so please speak to us about that!

What do you wish couples knew about videography?

Videography is so much more than just pointing and holding a camera. There's not many places in our daily lives that we work so hard to be invisible, to put so much effort in appearing effortless. Good videography is about telling stories, about anticipating actions and emotions. For us, it's not just about showing what happened, but how it felt to be there.

Where can couples learn more about you?

While we're not filming weddings, we have a fun side project, a mountain biking YouTube channel called Hardtail Life. It's a great way to learn about us while we do something totally different! We also offer free consultations, so please book a time to chat with us!
