An Intimate Deep Cove Wedding
I first met Jen + Jon when Jon reached out to capture their engagement session. We spent the afternoon wandering through the trails in North Vancouver, watching their pup Brutus, enjoy all the sticks the trails had to offer.
So when Jen reached out about photographing their Deep Cove wedding, I was pretty excited to say the least!
A Relaxed Elopement
Jen + Jon are my people. Chill, relaxed, laid-back, not super fussed about the details, other than getting married.
And that's exactly how they planned their day.
They planned a weekday Deep Cove beach elopement, with just their immediate family there to celebrate.
Jen found a beautiful summer dress, Jon found a super nice outfit, and they even found Brutus, their fur-baby, a special outfit for the day!
Making the Day Feel Like Them
One of my favourite things about Jen + Jon's wedding was how they found small ways to include the traditions that mattered most to them.
Brutus wore a barong, a traditional Filipino shirt often worn for weddings.
Instead of ordering a wedding cake, they ordered 10 sampler cakes because they couldn't decide on just one. Honestly... I super love this decision.
After a few portraits around the cove, we left them to continue the celebrations with their parents and eat as many cakes as they could for the rest of the day.
Planning a Deep Cove Elopement
If you're thinking about planning a Deep Cove elopement, it's easy to see why it's such a popular choice.
Located on the easternmost part of North Vancouver, Deep Cove is a cute little village with amazing views, water activities, and great restaurants, making it a perfect location for your elopement.
Booking the Park
Panorama Park (the official name of the park in Deep Cove) can be reserved through the District of North Vancouver for a small fee.
If you're planning a Deep Cove beach elopement during peak season, I'd highly recommend booking the space, especially if you're hoping to set up chairs, an arch, or have a few guests joining you.
Logistics for Your Deep Cove Wedding
Deep Cove is a popular destination during the summer, so a little planning ahead goes a long way.
Here are a few things worth knowing before your wedding day.
Parking Options
Deep Cove is a small neighbourhood in North Vancouver with very limited parking. Being a residential neighbourhood, a lot of the street parking is permit-only.
Finding a parking spot can take a while, so I'd recommend giving yourselves (and any guests joining you) plenty of extra time to get there.
Parking Lots
The main parking lots are next to Panorama Park and along the waterfront.
They're paid parking lots ($3/hour as of Summer 2026) and have a 3-hour time limit that's strictly enforced.
Street Parking
There is street parking throughout Deep Cove; however, most spaces are either time-limited or reserved for residential permits.
Be sure to double-check the parking signs before leaving your car, as restrictions are regularly enforced.
Overflow Parking
During peak times of the year, overflow parking is available at Myrtle Park (about a 10-minute walk away) and nearby schools like Cove Cliff Elementary and Seycove Secondary.
Again, be sure to check all parking signs before heading off to enjoy your day.
Book an Airbnb
Given the parking situation in Deep Cove, I'd recommend booking an Airbnb nearby, if it's within your budget.
Being just a short walk from the beach gives you so much peace of mind on your wedding day. No worrying about finding parking, no rushing to make it to your ceremony—just a relaxed start to your wedding day.
Ceremony Location
One of the best things about planning a Deep Cove wedding is how flexible your ceremony options are.
If it's just the two of you—or a handful of guests—you can easily find a quiet corner of the beach or park to stand for your ceremony.
If you're planning to set up decorations like an arch or seating for guests, be sure to check with the District of North Vancouver to confirm what you're allowed to set up and where.
Activities to Include as Part of Your Deep Cove Elopement
One of the things I love most about planning a Deep Cove elopement is that your wedding day doesn't have to end after the ceremony.
Everything in the village is within walking distance, making it easy to turn your wedding into a full-day experience.
Imagine Your Day Looking Something Like This...
Have a first look at sunrise while the beach is still quiet.
Exchange your vows and make it all legal.
Pop some bubbly and enjoy mimosas as the sun continues to rise.
Head to Honey's for coffee and a donut (or ice cream... because why not?)
Chill out in the Muskoka chairs while you read letters from your loved ones.
Take your paddleboards out for a lap around the cove.
Head back to shore and jump into the water together for a "wreck the dress" ending to your day.
