5 Morning-of Wedding Tips for a Stress-Free, Photo-Ready Morning

The morning of your wedding can feel like a weird mix of chill and chaos. One minute you're sipping coffee in your robe, the next you're triple-checking the vow book you swear you packed.

Whether you're getting ready at home, in a cabin, or in a boutique hotel, these morning of wedding tips will help you stay relaxed, present, and photo-ready—so you can actually enjoy the day (and the champagne).

For a more practical checklist for your morning, check out this one from Brides.com.

1. Lose the Hair Ties (Yes, Really!)

If you have long hair and are anything like me, there’s always a hair elastic on your wrist. But those sneaky little bands leave marks—and you don’t want lines in your first-look photos! Toss them in your getting-ready bag before you slip into your dress or suit.

2. Empty Those Pockets

I think we can all agree, dresses with pockets = amazing.  Phone outlines in your wedding photos? Not so much. Whether it’s your phone, keys, or a snacky snack, empty those pockets before photos. Trust me, your future self will thank you.

3. Ditch the Socks Early

Planning to wear open-toed shoes? Take your socks off well before you step outside. Sock lines take forever to fade, and we want those sun-kissed, carefree barefoot (or sandal-ready) vibes!

Pro Tip: If you’re having a beach elopement and want to dip your feet in the water, plan a timeout before you get in the water to give the sock lines a chance to disappear. A picnic, champagne pop or outfit change are great options.

4. Hydrate Like It’s Your Job

Especially if your wedding day is a scorcher (hello, heat dome!), drink a big glass of water before heading out. Dehydration hits fast—and nobody wants a headache during vows. Bring a cute flask or water bottle for on-the-go sips!

If your ceremony is longer than 10-15 minutes, have a big glass of water on standby to drink immediately after your ceremony.

5. Focus on the Fun (The Rest Will Follow)

At the end of the day, the only people who will notice the missing tiny details will be the two of you, because you had planned for it.

What will people notice and remember? The food, the drinks, the music, the fun, the laughter, and how much fun they had celebrating the two of you. So take a deep breath, soak it all in, and let the magic happen.
